Wang Dong visits Daqing Oilfield to advance cold-climate power systems

Wang Dong, founder and CEO of Huiyao Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., was recently invited to visit Daqing Oilfield, the largest cold oilfield in China, for inspection. He delved into the extreme cold operation zone at-40℃°C, focusing on upgrading the power supply system for oilfield drilling. The visit aimed to explore the application potential of energy storage technology in extreme environments and support the transition of traditional oilfields to green and low-carbon operations.

Technical Solution Core: Balancing Cold-Resistant Performance and Cost-effectiveness

To address the performance limitations of traditional energy storage technologies in extreme cold environments, Huiyao Intelligence has developed innovative solutions:

Methanol Power Generation System: Utilizing methanol-electric hybrid technology with a highly cold-resistant engine, this system enables intelligent co-firing of methanol and gasoline at-40°C, achieving 85% power generation efficiency per unit while keeping fuel costs under 2.5 yuan per liter.

Smart Energy Storage Coordination: The battery storage system integrates a methanol heating module that rapidly increases battery temperature through residual heat utilization.

Strategic Positioning: Building a 'Green Electricity-Methanol' Closed Loop.

This collaboration will explore a full-chain model integrating methanol synthesis and energy storage applications. Huiyao Intelligence CEO stated: 'As a liquid energy storage medium, methanol effectively addresses the challenges of green electricity integration and long-term energy storage in ultra-cold regions. Once the technology matures, it could be expanded to high-latitude areas like Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang.'

Industry Significance: Providing China Solutions for the Energy Transition in Extreme Cold Regions.

If successfully validated, this solution will fill the gap in China's extreme cold energy storage sector and provide a replicable path for the transformation of traditional energy bases worldwide. According to estimates, after nationwide promotion in high-latitude oil fields, annual diesel consumption could be reduced by 500,000 tons and carbon emissions by 1.5 million tons, equivalent to planting 80 million trees.

This collaboration marks the transition of Chinese energy enterprises from "resource exploitation" to "technology-driven development", contributing innovative practices to address climate change.
